Biography

I am Associate Professor at the Medical University of Innsbruck in Austria. A major focus of my research is studying so-called small bioorganic molecules in human bodies. Typical types of investigated molecules are natural substances like amino acids, sugars and fats but also man-made substances such as legal or illegal drugs. With respect to drugs, we are particularly interested in their metabolisms and how this might cause positive effects or health problems. We develop very sensitive methods for the detection of various drugs in order to help in drug overdose cases. Our research group has more than 15 years expertise in the field.
